Hi and welcome to Briar Rose and the Bears!

This is my little online universe where I delve into my love of the written word, fashion and craft  bringing it all together to create fun and interesting outfits and hopefully inspire you to get creative yourself!

I'm also an author and mother and I'll also share my inspiration behind my writing, post my song lyrics/poems and other thoughts.

I'm a lover of vintage clothes, kitsch ornaments, old books, granny blankets, and warm cups of hot chocolate on rainy days. Sometimes my children can be roped into doing craft and other fun things with me and sometimes they just want to play the computer! :p

This perhaps could be called the Random World of Laurelle Lewis, but it is the heart and soul of where my inspiration comes from for my characters and the worlds I create.

Why Briar Rose and the Bears?

When I was a little girl my mum always read me fairy tales and fantasy stories, and some of the ones that stick in my mind especially are the Faraway series by Enid Blyton and Little Golden Books. Another story that sticks in my mind though and hence the name of this blog is the story of Briar Rose. It just really touched me as a child, the illustrations drew me in and I like the sound of the words together. I have one daughter and two sons, so Briar Rose and the Bears is reference to my love of literature and also my children.
